Responsible Gambling
Casino BD is committed to promoting safe, responsible gambling practices among our readers.
Legal Status in Bangladesh
As of 1 July 2026, the Gambling Prevention Act, 2026 replaced the colonial-era Public Gambling Act 1867 and explicitly criminalizes online gambling participation (up to 5 years imprisonment or a fine of up to Tk 1 crore), as well as operating or promoting offshore gambling platforms (up to 7 years or a fine of up to Tk 5 crore). Enforcement so far has focused mainly on operators and payment channels rather than individual players, but the legal risk to players is real. This is not legal advice - please weigh this risk carefully before participating in any form of online gambling.
Signs of Problem Gambling
Warning signs can include: spending more money or time gambling than you intended, chasing losses, gambling to escape stress or negative emotions, hiding gambling activity from family or friends, and neglecting work, relationships, or financial obligations because of gambling.
Tips for Safer Play
If you choose to gamble despite the legal and financial risks, consider these practices: set a strict budget before playing and never exceed it, never gamble with money needed for essentials, avoid gambling under the influence of alcohol, take regular breaks, and never chase losses by wagering more.
Self-Assessment
If you're unsure whether your gambling has become a problem, ask yourself honestly whether you have tried to cut back and been unable to, whether gambling has caused arguments with people close to you, or whether you feel anxious or irritable when not gambling. Answering yes to any of these is worth taking seriously.
